100 Calorie Snack Scam

A recent marketing trend in the ‘snack’ world is to offer small portion controlled sizes in 100 calorie packs.
I’ve seen everything from brownies, to chips, chocolate bars, and rice cakes offered in these little snack-packs.
Guess what…
you’re still eating 100 calories of garbage!
Would it be okay to give a recovering alcoholic just a small shot of whiskey? Or maybe allow an ex-smoker just a couple of smokes?
Of course not!
And while some of you might think the analogy is a little bit of a stretch, I promise you it’s not.
Chocolate, sugar, and all of the chemicals they put in these treat foods these days are every bit as problematic as alcohol, nicotine, and even some of the more illicit drugs.
Don’t believe me?
What happens when you decide to abruptly stop eating sugar when it’s been a staple in your diet? Withdrawal. And it aint fun.
We are a society that is ADDICTED to junk food. Chocolate, bread, pastries, soda, pizza, etc. All of these foods create chemical responses in your body that are almost impossible to distinguish from drugs and alcohol.
Additionally, all of these foods, if routinely kept in the diet, will make fat loss a constant uphill struggle.
Success in weight loss, fat loss, and getting a lean and toned physique DEPENDS on you getting this junk out of your diet.
Giving yourself a ‘treat’ of 100 calories isn’t fooling anyone, especially your body.
Tell you what…
Instead of eating just a tiny sliver of chocolate (which is about all you’ll get with 100 calories), why not eat some apple slices with a little almond butter? You’ll load up on tons of vital nutrients and vitamins, get some healthy fat, protein, and carbs, and you’ll actually put something substantial in your stomach to tide you over until the next meal.
Alternatively, the chocolate will only give you a major sugar craving, flood your system with insulin making it impossible to burn fat, leech nutrients from your body, and it won’t put a dent in your hunger.
Make the smart choice.
